Privacy Policy

ChefYield (“we”) costs plates for restaurants. ChefYield is operated by L Rothschild Express Tr Ent, which manages Zoe Ophelia Holdings LLC. L Rothschild Express Tr Ent is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. This policy covers the ChefYield app (on iPhone and iPad now, and on Android once it is available on Google Play) and this website, including our early-access email list. What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your restaurant name, a password (stored only as a secure hash), and an account ID.
- Menu and kitchen data you enter or scan: recipes, sell prices, ingredient costs, yields, pantry counts, suppliers and supplier contact emails, invoice line items, waste log notes, team-invite emails, your time zone and email digest setting.
- Photos you choose to add: dish photos, and menu and invoice photos you scan.
- Subscription status and purchase history if you subscribe (handled by Apple and RevenueCat; we never see your card details).
- A push notification token for your device, only if you turn on alerts in the app.
- Support messages you send to dreamteamnow369@gmail.com.
- If you join our email list on this website: your email address, which kind of phone you use (iPhone/iPad or Android), and your restaurant name if you give it.
- Website usage data: pages you visit, the site or link that brought you here, approximate location (city level), and device and browser type. Google Analytics collects this using cookies (see “Analytics and cookies”).
- Text and photos you send to an AI feature (see “AI features”).
We do not sell your recipes, prices, or invoices.
The ChefYield app does not use advertising or analytics tools, does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and does not collect your location or contacts.
How we use it
We use this data to cost plates, rank the menu, update pantry prices, keep your account signed in, manage your subscription, send the emails you ask for (for example supplier purchase orders, team invites and the optional email digest), send alerts if you turn them on, and answer support. Invoice and menu photos are used to read prices and ingredients into your account.
AI features
Some ChefYield features use artificial intelligence: the AI recipe parser and AI cost-saving suggestions (Pro and Elite plans), and menu scan and invoice scan (Elite plan). The app asks for your permission before it sends anything to OpenAI for the first time, and AI features stay off until you agree. When you use one of these features, what you submit (for example a recipe’s text, a menu photo or an invoice photo) and the related ingredient and price data are sent to OpenAI, a third-party AI service. It processes the request and returns the result to your account. We send only what the feature needs, and only when you use the feature. We do not use your recipes, prices or invoices to train AI models. You can use ChefYield without these features by entering recipes and prices yourself.
Email list
If you join the ChefYield early-access list on this website, we use your email address to send the free plate-costing spreadsheet, a few short emails before launch, an email when ChefYield is available for your kind of phone (iPhone and iPad first; Android when it arrives on Google Play) with your founding-member offer code if you qualify, and occasional tips. We use the phone type you choose only to send you the right launch email. Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email dreamteamnow369@gmail.com to be removed. Sign-ups are stored by Netlify, our website host, and by the email service we use to send these emails. We never sell or rent your email address. We do not send text messages.
Analytics and cookies
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and links people use, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects the website usage data listed above. We do not use it to identify you personally or for advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Google’s privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Who sees it
Your kitchen data stays in your account and is shared only with teammates you invite. We use these service providers to run ChefYield. They handle data only to provide their service to us:
- Railway: hosts the ChefYield app’s server (backend).
- MongoDB Atlas: stores the app’s database, including your account, kitchen data and photos.
- OpenAI: processes the text and photos you send to an AI feature, only after you agree in the app (see “AI features”).
- Brevo: sends the app’s emails, such as supplier purchase orders, team invites and the optional email digest.
- Expo: delivers push notifications if you turn on alerts.
- RevenueCat: manages subscription status for your account.
- Apple (App Store): distributes the app and processes subscription payments and push notification delivery. Payments are handled entirely by Apple.
- Netlify: hosts this website and stores early-access sign-ups.
- The email service we use for the early-access list, and Google Analytics for website usage (see “Analytics and cookies”).
We share data if the law requires it, or to protect the service from abuse.
How long we keep it
We keep account and kitchen data while the account is open. When you delete your account, it is closed and signed out right away, and your account, recipes, pantry, invoices, photos and push registrations are permanently erased after 30 days. Logging back in during those 30 days cancels the deletion. We may keep records we must keep for tax or fraud reasons. Support emails are kept long enough to resolve the issue.
Your choices
You can edit or delete a recipe, an ingredient, or a photo inside the app. You can delete your whole account inside the app at Profile → Delete account. You can also email dreamteamnow369@gmail.com to export or delete your account. You can turn alerts off at any time in the app or in your device settings, and you can turn off AI features by not using them. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Manage or cancel it in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. If you are in a region with access or deletion rights, use that same email address.
Children
ChefYield is for restaurant operators. It is not for children under 13.
Security
Account data is sent over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled servers. No method of storage is perfect.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes. Continued use after that date means you accept the update.
